Yahoo!7 Music

The Music website was redesigned twice during my time at Yahoo! Both versions of the site were coded to be able to accept a second Style Sheet to alter colours and graphical elements in order to co-brand with third-party advertising campaigns running in the websites advert slots. While at Yahoo! I coded and deployed almost 50 such branded advertising takeovers.

Client brands included Apple, Coca Cola, Ministry of Sound, Nike, Nintendo, Sony, Virgin and movies such as Ice Age 2, Superman Returns and Happy Feet.

Aside from being a major advertising opportunity, the Yahoo!7 Music site was an innovative Internet Radio streaming service, personalised to the user in that every song that was served to them could be rated, affecting what songs would subsequently be served. Yahoo! Music was also a hub for music news, the latest chart details and information on gigs throughout Australia.

Yahoo!7 Music had some industry exclusives, including live streaming of the Red Hot Chilli Pepper's "Stadium Arcadium" album for a week before release anywhere else in any medium.
